April 24, 2009 - A stream team volunteer worked with a MDC Naturalist to demonstrate Water Quality Monitoring to 60 Junior High students from Carthage, MO.
April 19, 2009 - The stream team sponsored a Shoal Creek Clean Up. The day was cool and rainy so the attendance was not good but trash collection was worth our effort.
April 1, 2009 - A stream team volunteer worked with a MDC Naturalist to demonstrate Water Quality Monitoring to a group 5th-7th grade students from Neosho, MO.
February 22, 2009 - A group of stream team volunteers met to do the third water quality sampling, including the macro invertebrate collection and the chemical monitoring profile. It was a beastly COLD day and the volunteers nearly froze to death although the invertebrates seemed fine!
October 19, 2008 - A group of stream team volunteers met to do the second macro invertebrate collection on Silver Creek, Site #1. Since some of the volunteers had completed additional training, the sampling also included a chemical monitoring profile.
September 6, 2008 - Two stream team volunteers made a presentation to an Audubon Center Volunteer Training Class on Water Quality Monitoring.
July 26, 2008 - Two stream team volunteers mentored a group of Boy Scouts as they learned about water quality monitoring on Center Creek, near Webb City.

2008 - Our first stream Team activity was the 1st Water Festival on this day. As part of the event, the team hosted a Shoal Creek
Clean Up and Water Quality Monitoring Demo. The "demo" activity
was also the first macro invertebrate sampling for our Silver Creek Site
#1. This first success was certainly achieved with the help of Rosiland Layne who was our AmeriCorp mentor.

28, 2008 - The Wildcat Glades Conservation & Audubon Center
Stream Team #3714 was initiated when the members graduated from the
Introductory Level Course on this date. The training was held at
the Audubon Center in Joplin, MO.
