November 17, 2009 - Our team hosted the first meeting for a new area Stream Team Association. Nine teams attended from Newton county and surrounding counties. This story is just beginning.
November 10, 2009 - Stream Team completed sampling on Site 4 which is our first site on Shoal Creek. See the data on the Monitoring Data page.
September 12, 2009 - Stream Team completed the second macro invertebrate sampling and third chemical monitoring on Silver Creek Site #1 for this year. This activity was combined with a Wonders of Water family program that the team did for the Audubon Center. There were about 20 folks of all ages in attendance. September 10, 2009 - New Site! Silver Creek Site #3 was sampled for the first time. This site is just off of 44th street. It is south of where Silver Creek will eventually be part of a large commercial development. This site will help us establish a baseline for the area as well as give us three points on Silver Creek. July 18, 2009 -
Stream
team volunteers participate in the 2nd Annual Water Festival.
Again, the team sponsored a Shoal Creek Clean Up and a Water Quality
Monitoring Demo. The Clean Up was enhanced this year by actually
having folks in Shoal Creek. This was the first time that boats
and canoes were available.
July 15, 2009 - The initial chemical monitoring on Silver Creek Site #2 is completed on this date.
June 23, 2009 - Stream team volunteers initiate Site #2 sampling on Silver Creek. The initial macro invertebrate collection is completed on this date. It is a beautiful site.

June 22, 2009 - Stream team volunteers conducted chemical monitoring on Silver creek Site #1. Trash collection is always part of the outing.
June 13, 2009 - Two stream team volunteers traveled to Center Creek to conduct another water quality monitoring demonstration with the Boy Scout group. The boys were camping and seemed to enjoy the macro invertebrate collecting, especially sorting the "critters".
